Josh Schepers

Director

Josh received both his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Accounting from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS and obtained his CPA license shortly thereafter. Josh has over 10 years of tax and consulting experience working with a top 100 regional firm. He specializes in tax and accounting for small to medium sized businesses and really enjoys getting to know his clients on a personal level and helping them and their families obtain their long-term goals. He enjoys spending time with family and friends outside of the office. Fun Fact – Josh dabbles in the freshwater planted aquarium hobby.

Allison Cook

Principal Emeritus

Allison grew up in Ohio being one of five sisters. She moved to Colorado in 1992 trying to flee the humidity and get in some skiing. Allison is also an avid scuba diver and has her Master Diver Certification. On top of skiing and scuba diving, she likes to travel, camp, hike and snowshoe whenever possible. Allison graduated Summa Cum Laude from Regis University with a B.S. in Accounting and a minor in Business Administration. Her accounting and business consulting career has spanned over 25 years. She has given several tax and accounting seminars to both CPA professionals and the general public. She has served in the past on the board of the Acorn School for Early Childhood Development. She is also a member of The Coral Reef Alliance and the PADI Diving Society. Allison has her Accredited in Business Valuations (ABV) license and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation, both from the AICPA. Allison is a member of the Colorado Society of CPAs, the American Institute of CPAs and Mensa International.

Arrone Appel

Principal Emeritus

Arrone has been a leading part of the Boulder / Denver Community for over 30 years. He recognizes that all of our team members have unique strengths that we can combine for the benefit of our clients. We use a collaborative approach to our projects that Arrone developed while working with a “Big 8” firm in New York. Arrone ensures that we utilize the most current and “state of the art” technology in order to provide our clients with exceptional products and services for their individual needs.

Kyle Gore

Tax Manager

Kyle was born and raised in Wyoming where he earned bachelors degrees in both accounting and criminal justice from the University of Wyoming. He has over 5 years of public accounting experience and has worked in both taxation and auditing. Kyle specializes in tax and accounting for individuals and their closely held entities. He enjoys spending time with his family and his dog and loves to spend time outdoors as much as possible. Fun fact – Kyle is an aspiring photographer.

Larry Tucker

Tax Manager

Larry received his accounting degree from Ft Lewis College in Durango, CO and has been in accounting for more than 10 years. He has an extensive knowledge of tax code and specializes in the unusual and complex. He loves spending time with his kids, hiking, and is always learning something new. Fun Fact – Larry is an inventor and entrepreneur bringing consumer products to market!

Bonnie Clark

Tax Advisor

Bonnie has lived in the great state of Colorado for over 25 years. She grew up in Ohio and West Virginia and has lived in Utah, Alaska, California, Costa Rica and Austria. She has a tax-focused Accounting Certification from Front Range Community College, a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Fort Lewis College and a bachelor’s degree in English and Philosophy from University of Utah. She has been preparing taxes since 2016 and was recognized for her work with the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program by the Governor of Colorado. Prior to becoming a Tax Preparer she worked in Disaster Recovery, Software Development and the airline industry. Bonnie loves to spend her free time hiking, snowshoeing and skiing, dancing to live music, travelling, working in the garden, reading and visiting with family and friends.

Claire Briddle

Office Manager

Info Claire received a bachelors degree from Saint Louis University in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Leadership & Change Management. Prior to joining Arkose, Claire worked in Investment Consulting where her main responsibility was to analyze Portfolio Investment Risk. In her current role at Arkose, she serves as a connection between the tax advisors and clients to best satisfy each client’s needs. When she is not at work, she loves to hike, ski, and spend time with her family. Fun fact – Claire is a Barre Instructor in Boulder!

Seikah Roberts

Administrative Assistant

Seikah received a bachelor’s degree from Juniata College in Environmental Science with a minor in Accounting. Prior to joining Arkose, Seikah worked as an office manager where her main responsibilities were bookkeeping, client correspondence, and keeping everyone sane. She loves spending time outdoors as much as possible. Fun Fact – Seikah is from Maine!

Ryan Petersen

Director

Ryan joined Arkose (formerly Pathlight Tax & Consulting) in 2013. Ryan is a licensed Certified Public Accountant with a Master’s degree in Taxation from the University of Denver and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Finance from the University of Idaho.

Prior to joining Arkose, Ryan worked for ten years at EKS&H (now Plante Moran). During this time, Ryan served clients in a range of industries and ultimately became a leader within the real estate group. There he developed expertise in commercial and residential real estate. Ryan has assisted clients in tiered structures, complex operating agreements and allocations, real estate deals, and organizational restructuring.

After joining Arkose, Ryan serves a wide client base, but has developed an expertise in the following practice areas:

· Estate taxation, including tax issues surrounding litigation of the estate assets or conservatorship of individuals.
· Ryan is also a Registered Investment Advisor and consults on investment advisory, family wealth transfer, and retirement plans.
· Succession planning for retiring business owners, including consulting on the sale to a 3rd party or management buyout.
· International tax compliance.
· Divorce tax issues.

Jeremy Reiss

Director

Jeremy’s experience includes nearly 10 years of assisting a wide variety of businesses — from large, multinational corporations, to local, closely held businesses and their owners. Having founded his own company, Jeremy brings a unique perspective and entrepreneurial spirit to Arkose.

Jeremy’s biggest passion is serving real estate clients and start-ups, and navigating the complexities of partnership taxation. He has served on the board of directors for clients and has assisted them with entity selection and formation, structuring complex partnership agreements, real estate transactions, and succession planning.

Ming Lam

Senior Tax Manager

Ming has over 25 years of public accounting experience and has been serving clients at the firm for over 20 years. She is fiercely dedicated to her clients and has expertise in very technical areas such as international tax structures, research and developments credits, and large C corporation issues.

Ming is a graduate of the University of Colorado Denver with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She has been a certified public accountant since 1996. Originally from Hong Kong, Ming moved to the United States in 1992.

Jolene Erickson

Office Manager

Jolene has been with Arkose (formerly Pathlight Tax & Consulting) since 1995. She manages the day to day operations of the firm and also has extensive experience with preparing individual tax returns.
Annette Williams

Admin Assistant

Annette has been with Arkose (formerly Pathlight Tax & Consulting) since 1999. She handles all of the billing functions of the firm along with being our receptionist.
